Mendi shoulder war shield

There were three shields type among the Mendi : the large rectangular shoulder shield (SHOMO), the bowmen' s oval wooden shoulder shield (WORRUMBI) and the wooden under-arm shield (ELAYABORR). This item is from the third type (ELAYABORR) worn to protect the torso during battle while leaving both hands free for using the bow. It has a U-shaped notch at the top and was hung from the bowman' s shoulder.
