Arhemland ceremonial spear

Ceremonial painted spear tip "Rangaa". Arhemland. Australia. Circa mid. 20th. century. Great condition. Cm. 5 x 98 ( 2" x 3'3"). A custom made stand is included in the price.
This spear is from North East Arnhem Land and was used to administer punishment determined by clan leaders rather than in warfare. Once a punishment was determined the spear was thrust into the thigh for example. It is painted with natural earth pigments has some slight pigment loss but is in remarkably good condition for its age. Price on request.
